As a =cough= older but wiser person who was graduating from high school the year you were born, I have to say that you are light years ahead of the game. Too many folks my age are clueless about a lot of things, including career and money.

I have to tell you, though - check your HR policies about Emo Kid and see if you can put him on probation and then kick him to the curb. Can't make it in for 11 - 3? He wouldn't last 2 weeks in the real world. Also, if your CEO is upset, then both you and your boss are on his radar. The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to keep other folks in line, and it will not look good for you and your boss. Just my 2 cents ... 20+ years working I've seen a lot :-P

Good luck to you!CT Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13540680943713937060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860535413958087918.post-34882148076311711772008-02-14T08:41:00.000-08:002008-02-14T08:41:00.000-08:00It's situations like Emo Kid that make me never wa...It's situations like Emo Kid that make me never want to manage people. I admire your ability to deal with him professionally!Piecakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10772372525340768320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860535413958087918.post-2481570663848728812008-02-14T07:01:00.000-08:002008-02-14T07:01:00.000-08:00Yeah, it's pretty crazy. The CEO is upset that he...Yeah, it's pretty crazy. The CEO is upset that he's gotten to this point, but Emo Kid (as I refer to him) has been working these hours for months so it'll be hard to break him of the habit. He comes from a very wealthy family so he doesn't actually have to work, but wants freedom from his parents so would like to be self sufficient (my CEO's ex-gf is friends with the kid's dad). When I say kid, I think he's 23 or 24 which makes him only a couple years younger than me :-P.

I have less paitence than my boss over it who think it's just cuz Emo Kid is young. The age excuse doesn't work on me since I'm not much older.

He knows the system the best so we have to keep him around for a couple months and he knows that he has that power. He just doesn't understand the expiration date on it and I feel bad for him...well, I do when I'm not feeling annoyed, anyways. :-PChickCentshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06264801693356908542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8860535413958087918.post-42411263115162047322008-02-14T06:35:00.000-08:002008-02-14T06:35:00.000-08:00Wow! I thought I worked in a laid back environment!SavingDivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10267021491907810696noreply@blogger.com
